    This course allows you to acquire all the sales knowledge necessary for the trade of jewelry, jewelry and / or precious stones.

    The principles of sales: security, communication and store management

    This course requires the basic gemmology course or another degree in gemmology as a prerequisite.

    The content of this course allows the student to become familiar with the main principles of national to international sales, knowing how to establish a harmonious relationship with the customer, mastering the different aspects of verbal/non-verbal communication and optimally managing the relationship with the customer.

    • Develop the customer relationship.
    • Verbal and non-verbal communication.
    • The sales process: reception, listening, managing objectives…
    • Management of difficult situations, after-sales follow-up, security in the store.
    • Master delicate and psychological situations for a Swiss clientele abroad.
    • Gemstones:  evaluate the price, understand the size, quality, provenance.
    • Synthetic and imitation stones.
    • Diamond and the 4Cs (colour, clarity, cut & carat), the value of diamond on the world market.
    • Jewelry processes: crimping, lost wax, alloys, etc.
    • The terms and standards in jewelry and gemmology of the CIBJO.
    • The store, a powerful tool to help sales: decoration, advertising, etc.
    • The stock: the importance of the product + the 4Ps: Product, Price, Place, Promo.

    The courses are arranged according to your availability

    The dates & times of the courses are to be agreed between the student and the teacher. The schedules are Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm, and Saturday from 9am to 12pm. If you are not available during the day, a range can be agreed in the evening from 6pm to 9pm (except Saturday and Sunday).

    The total duration of the course is 30 hours, ten lessons of three hours.

    Price of the course, CHF 1700.

    This course is taught by David Arredondo, teacher responsible for gemmology and precious metals courses.

    A certificate is delivered following an exam. The test lasts three hours, consisting of a theoretical and practical part.
