    Mastering the essential principles and techniques of cutting

    This course is intended to introduce you to the basics of gem cutting.

    As a novice lapidary, you will learn the main cutting techniques, in order to know how to determine the feasibility of a rough stone and to apply three level 1 shapes, to awaken sparkle and colour.

    For a first approach to matter, you start with a cabochon creation. Then by learning to facet, you create a round cut stone, as well as another one in square shape.

    The lessons are mainly composed of practical exercises, accompanied by theoretical explanations and a theoretical folder of 100 pages.

    • Faceting and polishing techniques.
    • Dop transfer techniques.
    • Introduction to the Gem Cut Studio software.

    The courses are arranged according to availability

    Classes can be organised from Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Depending on the availability of the teacher, the courses can be flexibly modulated.

    The total duration of the course is 36 hours, twelve lessons of three hours.

    Price of the training, CHF 1550.

    This course is taught by Gabriel Arredondo, trainer responsible for the Gem-A courses and gem cutting.
