    Introduction to computer-aided creation (CAD) and 3D printing

    This course teaches the development of jewelry projects on a computer, as well as the production of files to be transmitted to third parties: 3D printing, 1:1 scale plans, realistic photo imaging, etc. The student also has the opportunity to have his projects printed in 3D, in order to verify and validate the object in real conditions.

    Topics covered and tools available during the training

    • Model all types of jewelry (rings, pendants, earrings…).
    • Prepare the setting (tolerances, type of setting, position of the gems…).
    • Check the feasibility of a project.
    • Create parametric models.
    • Analyze modeled objects (determine the amount of gold, thickness, etc.).
    • Generate computer graphics.
    • Establish files for 3D printing, CNC…

    The courses are arranged according to your availability

    The dates & times of the courses are to be agreed between the student and the teacher. The schedules are Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm, and Saturday from 9am to 12pm. If you are not available during the day, a range can be agreed in the evening from 6pm to 9pm (except Saturday and Sunday).

    The total duration of the course is 36 hours, twelve lessons of three hours.

    Price of the course, 1500 CHF.

    This course is taught by Samuel Arredondo, in charge of the creative pole at DAVID CRAFT.

    A certificate is delivered attesting to the follow-up of the course.
