    This seminar is intended for any person or company wishing to receive an introductory course or an update in gemology.

    Open to anyone wishing to start in gemmology

    We offer this seminar to companies and any public wishing to consolidate or deepen their skills in gemmology, colored stones and diamonds.

    The presentation can be customized according to the professional field or the specific interest of a company.

    Topics covered and tools available during the seminar

    • Introduction to gemmology.
    • The crystallographic structure, hardness and robustness.
    • The different effects and colors according to the types of stones.
    • Presentation of gems and diamonds on the market.
    • Gemmological instruments available:  10x loupe, tweezers, microscope, dichroscope, refractometer, polariscope, conoscope, spectroscope, optical fiber and ultraviolet, hydrostatic balance and immersion liquid.

    The courses are arranged according to your availability

    The dates & times of the courses are to be agreed between the student and the teacher. The schedules are Monday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm, and Saturday from 9am to 12pm. If you are not available during the day, a range can be agreed in the evening from 6pm to 9pm (except Saturday and Sunday).

    The total duration of the course is 12 hours, four lessons of three hours.

    Price of the course, CHF 750.

    This seminar is taught by David Arredondo, teacher responsible for gemology and precious metals courses.
